Happy Valentine's Day!

We had a pretty good Valentine's Day yesterday. I woke up and put the gift's that I got the kids and Dustin out on the kitchen table. I got each of the kids a little heart shaped box of chocolates and a card, and I got Dustin a box of chocolates from See's Candy. We spent the morning at the batting cages, where Dillon was practicing in preparation for his Baseball try-outs this week. After that, I took Dillon to the park to meet his friends and his coach where he practiced some more baseball. Then I got to have a couple of hours to myself to go shopping. I had to get Dillon's friend Nycholas a birthday present. Nycholas is Coach Pete's son. We then dropped Dillon off at Nycholas's surprise party, and the rest of us went to Outside Inn to eat dinner. I love eating at that place, it looks just like a log cabin inside. So, it wasn't your traditional lovey, romantic Valentine's Day, but it was okay just the same. :)

I have started my own little tradition of making the kid's Valentine's that they take to school on the computer. I decided that those little cardboard ones you buy at the store are cheesy... so I decided that I could do better. I started this last year, and had one of the mom's tell me that Ashlynn's Valentine was the only one she kept and put up for her son. So, I decided to continue the tradition this year..... and here they are.....

In school Dillon had to make up an animal and write a report about it. I was so impressed with what Dillon came up with that I had to post it. He is such a smart kid, with the best imagination! Check it out..... (click to enlarge)
